Okanagan College

As Director of facilities Kathleen Lausman adopted Lean Project Delivery to deliver a $40M Net Zero Trade Services Development. A Lean approach was needed to create the the cultural shift, collaboration and team integration needed to deliver this challenging development to meet a tight schedule and challenging budget requirements. This project was a catalyst for the formation of Lean Construction Institute Canada, with three members on the board including Kathleen as co-chair. OKanagan College Case Study

U of W Richardson College for the Environment

Murray introduced the U of W to Lean Project Delivery (LPD) to deliver the $80M Richardson College for the Environment development that included a Science Labortory Building, Student Residence and Daycare. A new approach was needed, as the project had high expectations for value, was over budget and had very tight time constraints. The LPD approach worked, we delivered a LEED Gold facility that is one of North Americas most energy efficient labortory facilities, at 60% less energy. Based upon the success of these projects, LPD has become the preferred project delivery method at the U of W. RCFE Case Study

Mosaic Center

The Mosaic Center is an exceptional project as it demonstrates that Lean Project Delivery can be used to deliver Living Building Challenge/Net Zero energy projects at the same cost as a traditional market building. Murray participated in the lean project delivery process including Last Planner System, Target Value Design and introduced a Lean Commissioning strategy to help get the project completed early. University of Saskatchewan

As Director of Facilities, Ron Cruikshank was responsible for planning & delivery of over $1B in Major Capital Projects, including the delivery of a major expansion to the Health Sciences Complex, during his years with the U of S. These projects were delivered to optimize total life cycle and as well as to demonstrate leadership in sustainable development. Three projects achieved LEED Gold certification. As an experienced contractor, estimator and engineer, Ron contributes to building the strong relationships amongst project constituents that are needed to deliver hugely successful projects.

Your Next Project

Kathleen, Ron, Karen and Murray would welcome the opportunity to share our expertise on your next project. Please contact us for a consultation and we will share WHY we advocate for a lean and more integrated approach for creating VALUE and demonstrating LEADERSHIP.

Collectively we have contributed to creating value for the following project owners through innovation and the implementation of integrated project delivery practices.

By adopting the "Integrated Project Delivery" we were able to bring all of the players that were needed to deliver an amazing project that exceeded our expectations for sustainability, value and performance.  It was truly a Team Effort and the University of Winnipeg is fortunate to have discovered that bringing contractors and sub-contractors to the table based upon their ability to create value will achieve outstanding results that far exceed what is possible with traditional project delivery approaches.
